The world is full of wondrous buildings. Some of them still stand today and if you are lucky enough to be able to travel, you may be able to experience them first hand. Some buildings have sadly perished in fires or have just simply become ruins, shadows of their former selves.
3D environments can play an important role in virtual heritage, helping people experience buildings from history and what it may have been like to live in those times. Imagine walking around a Roman villa, or defending a hill fort, or wandering like a monk in a Cistercian monastery.
